We have a thread similar to this on our forums, but I thought it would be fitting here.
Does anyone here have problems with the word Christian?

no. the word itself means 'follower of Christ' and does not mean anything bad when taken as only what the word means.
however, i prefer to use the erm messianic jew because there are certain theological assumptions tacked on with both names. just like there are theological assumptions taked on to the name Mormon (or Latter day sint) or Jehovahs witness. i only prefer the name abovee christian becasue the theological assumptions tcked onto this name are closer to my views than the theological assumptions tacked oto the word christian.
do you see what i mean?

I think your view is very reasonable.

thank you.
from what i have gathered though, most messianic jews feel this way. only a few have taken it out of context.

The thing is that if they(Christians) followed Yeshua they would never do the things that make a Christian a Christian! They wou;d follow Yeshua to Temple or synogogue on the Sabbath, keep the Holy Convocations.
