so, we all know that we will be ressurected in the future, or taken up alive, but translated in body.
but here is my question:
do we have a spirit?
what is that spirit (ie, just a life force, or a conscious entity)
what happens to our spirits after we die?
are our spirits concious prior to the ressurection and after death?
if our spirits ARE concious, than why is there a ressurection? what need?
finally, if our spirits ARE NOT concious after death (ie, they are just "sleeping" or they are mortal like our bodies) than what about scriptures like in ecclesiastes saying "the body of a man goes into the ground, but the soul of a man returns to the one who gave it" or something like that... sorry i think i misquoted.
so, please respond, this is a hard topic for theologians.

I have for this something better than theologies. There are witnesses who experienced clinical death - they were, PRACTICALLY dead, as though they were gone (There's no difference - let none think that it is something different or that if one man's brain exist, he should be alive).
After that, they experienced they have seen their immortal - spiritual body, which is possibly the same kind of body angels have. This is the body we have which cannot be destroyed in this earth - no human can make an effect on it. Even if we die, we have it - there's only one matter - what will happen to the "body" - whether it goes to heaven or to hell, or into burning lake in eternity.
On this account I advice you to see or download some documentary films such as: Death and Beyond - by John Osteen, Escape from Hell, A Glimpse of Eternity - by Ian McCormack or 23 Minutes in Hell - by Bill Wiese, and such others.
The interesting thing is that these people were mostly sinners whom Lord wanted to save. Many of them experienced going to Hell for some short time, but they felt it as though it was for eternity (Well, it's a bit different than this when you leave your physical body). All these people, only when they repented and confessed their sins to Lord, were taken to see heaven and then returned to their bodies.
One of the very interesting points on this account is that people sometimes asked such people: "How did you look? Were you a ghost?" - and they replied that NO, but they were real, far more real then in physical body - they were able to see own body, could control all bodily parts, but when they want to reach or touch something, it couldn't be touched. Neither other things nor, own body. Instead of it, a hand passed through head as though there wasn't anything. Could see it - it was visual, but it wasn't material, rather made of light.

i dont put much credit in these people. i am not saying they are liars, but i (1) dont have that measure of faith yet or (2) wont believe a false prophet... it all depends on whether they are telling the truth or not.
but lets stick to scriptures for the time being...
