Revelation is one of the most violent books of the bible. Lets start off with a short questionnare.
Is revelation more violent than the gospels? Is revelation the real end of the bible(do you think no book will ever be added? Any other comments on revelation
So i'll fill that in to start
Is revelation more violent than the gospels? Well the crucifiction is a very violent part of the bible. Suffering to the son of man, yet the burning down of churches is a violent thing to. And also jesus trashed a temple. So revelation is about the same level of violence as the gospels. Is revelation the real end of the bible(do you think no book will ever be added? I think there is a possiblity of god coming again i'm a strong believer in the return of god. Revelation is the last chapter of the first book Any other comments on revelation Its a very interesting book that i think explains a lot about the early churches. I hope you find meaning in it as much as me.

if the bible was a movie, it would be rated R. but preachers have a tendency to preach G... and only some are daring enough to preach PG-13... so when are we going to start preaching R? -Pastor Donnie, youth pastor of First Assembly of God. Phenix City, Al.
i think that this applies here.
and revelation is the most violent book of the NT, but in the Tanakh there are much more brutal things.
but revelation says that blood will flow to the horses bridle. wow... graphic.

Sounds like it has some serious reason to be such violent.
See this for example:
Revelation 16:4-7 4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs of water, and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters saying: “ You are righteous, O Lord, The One who is and who was and who is to be, Because You have judged these things. 6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, And You have given them blood to drink. For it is their just due.” 7 And I heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”
Brutal, but righteous - righteousness must be done! Many saints, prophets and our brothers (maybe we'll be with them) will desire righteousness - righteous vengeance. Then we shall have finaly find peace. For Lord is good and He will not forget his people who were treated evil by ungodly ones, amen?
Imagine what will have to happen and how terribly will have the humanity to sin so that Lord will have to start doing this righteously!

Yeh it definetaly has reason to be violent, it is the lords letters to the churches warning them. You can't exactly one somebody by saying:
'there there your lovely i won't hurt you. This is a warning of gloom.
