I felt as if I was a pioneer when I swam upstream against the Christian current. When I started to search for the truth, I was almost 60, I had been a Baptist, baptized and done the Baptist backslide completely out of religion, I did rather nicely with that encumbrance until my youngest daughter became unmanagable, I had raised a fine family I was a successful VP Gen. Mgr of a good sized Cable Televivion Company, a pillar of the community, respected by most people. Well this trial by fire was more than I could take alone, through the Alanon 12 step program I was introduced to scripture in a new way and the "Serenity Prayer" made it abundantly clear that I could only change my mind and no one elses, so I started to read the Gospels, looking for the Jesus they talked about in SS classes, but I couldn't find that Jesus, the Jesus I found was a Jew, He went to Temple, upheld the law. I read and re-read the gospel repeatedly until I had the Holy Ghost Experience! (to use the familar phrase) Still pioneering, still swimming upstream against the easy Christian, Lazy river. Lawlessness!

Shalom

Sounds like you have been very dissapointed on such christianity you were accustomed to, didn't you? Baptist congregation, oh such bad and liberal it was, as you said? I though Baptist were one of the best keepers of Lord's commandments. But what was the main reason for leaving, can you explain us more, Pioneer? I think your overpowered zeal against christianity, even true christianity makes you shoot some things over. Not all denominations and congregations are like the one you were raised in. Not every christian is 'Lawless' if you think so. I know there are many false christians misusing the grace they were given by Lord by Yeshua's precious sacrifice for us, sinning and saying "Lord Jesus will forgive me anyway, cos he died for me" - **** liberalism , I agree with you! But not everything is that bad as you think - too much things you are attacking, even the good ones. Slow down in some things! Lord and I appreciate you zealousness - it looks like the one which also Rav Shaul had until he was calmed down by the Lord, but it's good. Baruch HaShem & Shalom [NOTE FROM JOHN: i do not know whether jonotan was using the word '****' as in condemn, or as in the 'wirty dord' but please. i dont want any cussing on the forum, nor the APPEARANCE OF EVIL. (ha, like how i used sciprute in there :-) ) thank you. btw... i modified the word]

Sorry John, I didn't mean it that way. It is my express of righteous condemning judgement of some things that deserve it. Not any dirty words - I hate badwords and don't use them. Shalom

okay, thank you. i added a rule to the general info about that, saying that we dont even want appearances of ecvil. i understand what you are saying, and was pretty sure you meant it that way.
